Youth Group Information
On Sunday Nights our Middle & High School Students meet for Youth Group. This consists of dinner, worship, teaching & games. These are free events, unless otherwise noted. At various times during the year, we will take a trip to do a local mission or do some sort of fun trip - so please check the calendar and read the church bulletin to find that information.
On Sunday nights when students don't have school the next day, we have an "Afterglow." Afterglows are fun nights in which a family in the church opens their home to our students to hang out, swim, play games and eat dinner together. These are a great way for our church members to get to know our students!
We also have a Student Worship Band that is completely run by our students. Our worship leader, Josh Ford, is always looking for new musicians and singers to join the group. If you are interested in joining the Worship Team, Contact Christina Mitchell.
Planet Wisdom - Middle School Retreat
January 16 & 17, 2009 - Lakeland, FL - $75
January 16 & 17 our Middle School Students will travel to Lakeland, FL and experience the Planet Wisdom Conference! $75 covers lodging at Lake Gibson United Methodist Church, food for the whole trip, chaperone costs, tickets to the conference and gas for the bus. Sign up by Wednesday, November 19 with a $35 non-refundable deposit. The balance of $35 is due January 7, 2009. This would make a great Christmas gift for your Middle Schooler!
Student Life - High School Retreat
February 27 thru March 1 - Orlando, FL - $100
Our High School students will spend the weekend with students from Lake Gibson United Methodist Church at the Student Life Conference in Orlando, FL. $100 covers lodging in rented houses, food for the whole trip, chaperone costs, tickets to the conference and gas for the bus. Sign up by Sunday, November 16 with a $50 non-refundable deposit. The balance of $50 is due January 4, 2009. This would make a great Christmas gift for your High Schooler!
