Tonya Stout – Director of Children’s Ministries

Tonya Balboni Stout is an original Floridian but has resided in six different states from Florida to Michigan over the years.  She and her husband, Erik, and their two daughters, Morgan and Katherine, moved to Land o' Lakes over two years ago when Erik’s company offered the opportunity to relocate closer to her family in the St. Petersburg area.

Tonya holds a B.S. degree in Sociology/Psychology with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education along with two years graduate work in nursing. She has twenty-six years experience working with children. She has also written curriculum and designed Christian programs for toddlers through elementary age. With her experience and training many doors have opened up landing her positions as Children's Minster, Day Care Director, on site school counselor, curriculum specialist, and teacher.  Tonya is also a member of the Florida Storytellers Association and creates developmentally appropriate mini workshops.

We are excited that Tonya is part of the FUMC team. She officially joined the staff in July of 2008, but has taught Sunday school and directed Vacation Bible School since 2007.  Over the years Tonya's primary focus has been to encourage and support spiritual growth in children.   She is dedicated to building disciples from infancy through young adulthood.   The Children's Ministry here at Land O' Lakes is excited to be helping little feet begin the journey that will last a lifetime.
